Details:

The PCAL 2013 Winter Tournament will take place on February 2, 2013 at the Robert Livermore Community Center (4444 East Ave. in Livermore). The tournament starts at 12:30 pm and will end by 6:30 pm.

This is a 4-on-4 tournament, and each team is guaranteed at least 100 minutes of court time.

Players can sign up in any of the following THREE ways:

1. Players can sign up INDIVIDUALLY. INDIVIDUALS will be assigned to a team with complimentary skills. This is a great way to play with new people.
2. Players can sign up AS A TEAM of 5 or 6. Update: only one player has to sign up for his team, but he must provide complete information for his entire team.
3. Players can sign up AS A POD/GROUP of 2, 3, or 4. PODS will be assigned to teams. Update: only one player has to sign up for his team, but he must provide complete information for his entire team.

DO NOT sign up players without their consent and agreement to play on Feb 2.

Information needed for each player: first name, last name, home team, birthdate, cell phone, email address. If anyone is under 18, you must also provide emergency contacts and phone numbers.

If signups exceed space, preference will be determined as follows:
1. Day that signup was completed, with Monday getting first priority.
2. Age, with 18-35 getting first priority, 16-17 getting second priority, and 36-40 getting third priority. Pods with members from different groups will be assigned the priority of the lowest-priority member. Players under 16 or over 40 will not be entered into the tournament pool until after all other signups are completed.
3. Average PCAL seasons played, with more seasons played getting priority.
4. After the above qualifications, if we are close to our limit for participants and we need only a few more players, individuals will be prioritized over pods.
5. Pods that include players from more churches will get priority over those with players from only one church.

One more note: the same eligibility rules that we use for our summer basketball season apply here, meaning that players are eligible if they:
• Are baptized in the Coptic Orthodox Church, OR
• Take communion regularly in the Coptic Orthodox Church for any reason AND their church is in communion with the Coptic Orthodox Church, OR
• Intend to be baptized in the Coptic Church in the next 365 days

All other PCAL summer basketball rules will be used, with the only difference being that a pro clock will only be used in the last minute of the game. In addition, games will be officiated by senior PCAL members. You can access all rules here: http://pcaleague.org/rules.html

The entry fee for this tournament is $15 per person, which must be paid upon arrival on February 2. We are happy to waive your entry fee if it causes you financial difficulty, but please let us know before January 30 by emailing andrew@stgeorgechurch.org. Otherwise, if you don't pay, you don't play.
